Perinatal navigators
Navigating a high-risk pregnancy can feel overwhelming, so our perinatal navigators are here to provide you with extra support throughout your pregnancy and delivery experience. Operating as an advocate amongst your care team of obstetricians, gynecologists, maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) specialists, neonatologists and pediatric specialists, perinatal navigators' primary objective is promoting the safest possible outcome for you and your baby.
These committed professionals help develop your care plan, coordinate appointments, facilitate communication between you and your doctors, advocate for your and your baby’s wellness and offer you the resources and emotional support you need to successfully navigate your pregnancy journey.
Prenatal genetic counseling
In addition to our perinatal navigators, we have a certified genetic counselor who is specially trained to provide your family with information and support regarding genetic risks in pregnancy, as well as options for genetic testing. Our genetic counselor can provide guidance on treatment options, as well as help you make sense of test results and plan for next steps.
Special features of our hospital
If you or your newborn need additional care, we can coordinate both external and internal transportation to one of our other hospital units.
Antepartum unit (APU)
Our hospital houses a 48-bed APU for mothers who may require a hospital stay for increased monitoring on bed rest or limited activities. This residency can help your baby grow safely, give you access to a perinatal diabetes center and allow for specially-designed, maternal assessments.
Maternal-fetal transport
We have an emergency maternal-fetal transport care team that is available 24/7 to transport you to our hospital if you are experiencing a maternal medical emergency.
Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)
If your baby is born prematurely and requires special attention, we offer a 146-bed, Level IV NICU, the highest level of care available for premature and critically-ill newborns.
