Policies for our visitors
This information is designed to answer some of the most frequently asked questions about our visitor policies.
What are the visiting hours at your hospital?
Our hospital is open 24/7, but quiet hours are observed daily from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. All visitors will need a valid ID to check in at the front desk.
Additional visitation guidelines
While visitation guidelines are subject to change, in order to give you and those we care for the best possible experience, please try to adhere to all current policies.
Chiefly, we understand the positive impacts that having family members and loved ones around can bring. However, depending on the type and severity of someone's condition, there may be specific visitation policies in place to protect everyone. These include:
- Antepartum unit (APU) patients — There is no limit to the number of visitors, but all visitors must be in the patient's room, appropriate waiting rooms, or in a first-floor common area. Loitering in the hallways is prohibited.
- Labor and delivery patients — One support person is allowed throughout the entire stay, and two additional visitors can be switched out, for a total of three people at any time. Accompanied children may count as a visitor in all areas. Doulas count as providers and are not considered visitors.
- Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) patients — No more than two visitors per NICU patient are allowed at one time. Siblings ages 13 and up are welcome to visit during set times. Please do not visit the NICU if you are ill. Speak with a nurse for specific details, including the required health questionnaire before visiting.
- Obstetrics (OB) emergency patients — One support person is allowed at bedside. This person can change throughout the patient’s stay.
- Pediatric patients — No more than two visitors are allowed at one time. See additional visiting guidelines for our pediatric center.
Regardless of what department your loved one is in, support people must be 18 years of age or older and agree to practice hand hygiene and following masking protocols. Masks and hand sanitizing stations are available at the West Tower main lobby and ER (drop-off only) entrances.
Visitation restrictions
Circumstances may allow for specific exceptions to any visitation restrictions described on this webpage. Those circumstances include religious visitation as well as a designated support person for a patient with a disability to provide assistance with communication or other necessary components of the patient's treatment. All persons entering under an exception remain subject to appropriate infection control protocols.
