We Prepare You and Your Family.Woman’s offers an extensive education department and NICU extends the curriculum with programs designed specifically for the families of our NICU babies. With each class, support group and reunion, your confidence will build and caring for your baby will become more comfortable.
Classes & Groups
NICU Parent GroupParents are encouraged to attend the weekly NICU parent group presented by NICU physicians, nurses, therapists and other NICU professionals. The group offers an opportunity to learn about different topics while sharing similar experiences with other parents and learn strategies to care for your baby.
Toadally SiblingsThis group is designed for the siblings of NICU patients and includes activities, seminars on NICU and a special gift for each participant.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)Infant CPR training is offered to all NICU parents. For some parents it is required before baby's discharge. The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests all parents take CPR. To register for classes, parents may call the Education department at (713) 791-7495 to schedule a class. CPR training is also available in Spanish.
